Tell us about your experience

If you are a victim of crime in Queensland (or someone who supports victims), you can provide feedback about your experience in the criminal justice system. Your feedback gives us valuable information about how the criminal justice system is working with victims.

By hearing directly from you, we can give government advice that reflects the real-life experiences of Queenslanders.

You can see how we do this in our submissions to Parliamentary Inquiries and Reviews which we publish on our website: Advice on laws and policy | The Office of the Victims' Commissioner

How to give us feedback about your experience

The best way to give feedback about your experience is by using our online contact form and choosing the option: I want to provide feedback to improve the criminal justice system without you investigating or contacting the relevant agencies

If you can’t use the online contact form, you can:

  • email us with your feedback at contact@victimscommissioner.qld.gov.au
  • phone us on 1800 714 100 between 8.30am and 1pm on Mondays and Wednesdays. If you call us outside these hours, you can leave us a voicemail and we will return your call.
  • You can give anonymous feedback but if you would like us to respond, we need your name and contact details.

What we do with your information

We understand it can be hard to share feedback. Thank you for taking the time to do this. We will keep your information private and treat it with care.

You can read about how we manage your privacy on our website.

Sometimes, the Victims’ Commissioner uses feedback to:

  • identify ongoing problems affecting victims
  • give advice to government about how to improve victims’ experiences.

We protect privacy and do not identify victims in any feedback we share or publish.

If you do not want us to use your feedback in this way, please let us know when you send us your feedback.

You can change your mind at any time by contacting us to let us know.
