The Office of the Victims' Commissioner is independent of government and dedicated to promoting and protecting the rights of victims of crime in Queensland.
Victims are seen and heard in justice and support systems that respect them and anticipate their needs.

How we will achieve this
- Strengthen awareness, understanding, application, compliance and accountability for victims' rights across systems, communities and individuals.
- Maintain clear, accessible feedback and complaints pathways into the Office of the Victims' Commissioner.
- Complete the review of the Charter of Victims' Rights.
How we will achieve this
- Embed trauma-informed practices across justice and support systems, including our own organisation.
- Deliver awareness, training and guidance on victims' rights.
- Collaborate, engage and share information with key stakeholders.
How we will achieve this
- Collect and analyse victim experience data and insights.
- Ensure respectful and ethical use of victim experiences.
- Provide evidence-based advice to government and stakeholders.
- Publish findings on systemic issues and opportunities for improvement.
How we will achieve this
- Enhance access to, understanding of, quality and usability of justice and support systems.
- Be good corporate citizens through collaboration and coordination across justice and support systems and the communities they serve.
- Support the Sexual Violence Review Board.
