You decide you want to report the violence to the police for investigation
You can report the sexual violence to Police, even if it happened a long time ago.
You have options about how you can report sexual violence to Police:
- If you are in immediate danger, calling Triple Zero (000)
- Going to your local police station
- Reporting the violence online
- Calling PoliceLink on 131 444.
A sexual violence support service can talk through these options with you, and can help you talk to Police if you would like support.
If you report the sexual violence to Police, that means Police will conduct an investigation. You can seek help from Police or talk to them without making a formal report.
If you need help in communicating with Police, such as if you need a translator, let Police know so they can provide you with help.
